Membership

As a member of the Washington Metropolitan Chapter of the Association of Certified Fraud Examiners (ACFE DC), you receive many valuable benefits that help to promote your professional and career development. These benefits include access to member's only services and resources, as well as discounts on our training events. Membership is open to any person who may qualify and is interested in, or engaged in, the practice or teaching of preventing, detecting or deterring fraud. Our Fiscal and Chapter year spans from July 1 to June 30, while our membership year spans 1 year from the date you become a member.
Membership in your local chapter provides: 
  • Preferential rates on continuing professional education (CPE) training for in-person events hosted by the chapter,
  • CPE training courses that have an excellent reputation for quality and value,
  • Exceptional networking opportunities, and 
  • Rewarding volunteering opportunities with local non-profit organizations and Universities who have a Junior Fraud Victims Program (JFVP).

ACFE DC Membership Categories:
  • Certified Fraud Examiner (CFE): Open to certified members of the ACFE interested in positioning themselves as leaders in the prevention, detection and deterrence of fraud. The CFE is a globally preferred credential that continues to gain momentum as a symbol of quality in the anti-fraud profession. The Chapter CFE membership is $55.  
  • Associate: Open to non-certified individuals interested in the prevention, detection and deterrence of fraud and fraud-related activities. If you are a professional interested in learning more about fighting fraud, Associate membership with the ACFE provides you with the knowledge, resources and training you need. The Chapter Associate membership is $55.
  • Educator Associate: Open to non-certified individuals who are employed by an institution of higher learning, as an educator, as your primary means of employment. The Chapter Educator Associate membership is $27.50
  • Student Associate: Open to undergraduate students enrolled in 9 semester hours (or equivalent), or graduate students enrolled in 6 semester hours or equivalent) in an accredited college or university. The Chapter Student Associate membership is $27.50
